Bringing Your Vision to Life: The Commission Process
Thank you for considering a custom piece! I know that commissioning a painting can feel like a big step, so I’ve outlined my process below to show you how we’ll work together to create something perfect for your space.
1. Finding "The One"
Perhaps you’ve been following my work for a while or just discovered my landscapes. You love the texture and the light, but maybe the piece you wanted already sold, or the size isn't quite right for that specific spot above your mantle. That is exactly where the commission process begins.
2. Starting the Conversation
Reach out to me to start exploring your ideas. We’ll look at my previous paintings together to see what resonates with you—whether it's the rugged trees of Georgian Bay or the soft light of a marsh. We will discuss:

Mood and Composition based on your favorite "sold" pieces.
3. Planning & Preparation
Once I have a clear sense of your vision, I get to work. For larger or more complex scenes, I often create a small preliminary painting. This allows us to align on the composition and colors before the first stroke of oil hits the final canvas.
4. Investment & Payment
To begin the work, a 25% deposit is required once we agree on the size and price. The remaining balance (plus any shipping costs) is due upon completion, after you’ve given your final approval of the finished piece.
6. Safe Arrival
I take great care in professional packaging to ensure your painting arrives in pristine condition. I ship worldwide using reliable couriers, so whether you are in Ontario or across the ocean, your artwork is in safe hands.
7. My Guarantee
My goal is for you to absolutely love the final result. Because we collaborate so closely, I’m confident the piece will meet your expectations. However, if for any reason you aren't satisfied, I offer a 7-day money-back guarantee from the date of delivery (provided the painting is returned in its original condition).
